In the south of the Burgundy region, in a 4,000-square-metre walled garden complex, stands our centuries-old country house, along with an equally old guest house and coach house.
Clos Laraison is located in the small village of Issy-l’Evêque (850 inhabitants). Sitting at an elevation of between 300 and 500 metres, Issy-l’Evêque is surrounded by the beautiful South Morvan region, which is known for its lovely ‘bocage’ landscape, its white Charolais cows, and Romanesque churches. Clos Laraison refers to the walled compound (‘clos’ comes from ‘enclos’, which is French for ‘enclosed’) where two generations of the Laraison family, a family of wine merchants, resided: Charles and his son Edouard.
